This is my debut book of adult horror and suspense short stories!  I have sat at the keyboard laughing and crying during its construction. Late at night when I’ve needed to take a break, there have been many times when I’ve been afraid to walk through the house alone.  Even though the stories are fiction in every way, there are so many moments in my life that I have incorporated into its creation. I sincerely hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it!

All my life...

All my life I have enjoyed watching horror movies and reading about monsters and creepers.

During this journey I’ve been reading a lot to see what the competition is.  I have found that although my books are of the horror genre, they may lack some of the blood and guts to the degree that a few other horror manuscripts seem to be full of these days.  So, if you’re looking for the constant “ewww gross” element on every page, you may be a little disappointed.  Now don’t get me wrong, I believe you will be grossed out plenty, but they won’t be like one of those low budget movies you can’t quite bring yourself to sit through in its entirety.

My stories aren’t about a girl getting chased around a dark house with a butcher knife or a monster hiding in a closet. In my writing I enjoy keeping the reader thinking “wow this could really be happening” I want you walking away looking over your shoulders feeling like you just read a newspaper not a book of fiction.  In other words, I want it to be real for you.  I want you to feel as though you have something to worry about . . . every day and especially at night, in the dark.

I’m also very excited to announce that my third book should be available in the fall of 2024! Unless I come up with a better title, I’ve decided to call it “Nightmares and Visitations”. You guessed it – it’s a collection of stories about alien encounters. I’m hoping they will add new twists to an old theme, and you will look forward to it hitting the shelves. I’m shooting towards giving you a feeling of heartwarming mystique on one hand and horribly alarming on the other. Please let me know how I do –

I love short stories.  They hang with you, and often follow you. If they are well written and the reader can leave this world, even for a minute, and still be home for supper, it is SO worth the trip.

If any of you would like to follow me on Facebook – please do so! I enjoy your feedback and I’ve received a lot of enthusiasm towards future books. It’s been fun getting to know you a little and learning what you like. I’m hoping my writing reflects that.

Thanks to all of you for your support!

About the Author

I was born in Montgomery County, Maryland and raised in a small family with lots of encouragement to do the things that made me happy. I took advantage of this and growing up was interesting and sometimes teetered on crazy.

I was never a shy kid, so I was the cheerleader, majorette, and even played bass guitar in a rock band for a while during high school.  I wasn’t very good at playing my instrument, neither was the rest of the band I suppose but, we sure had a lot of good times, and I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.

After graduation I worked at motorcycle shops and a couple gas stations til I realized I should be making more money and having less fun, so I became a legal assistant and worked in Washington D.C. for two prestigious law firms for over 20+ years. Among other attorneys, I worked directly for James Baker (U.S. Secretary of State and White House Chief of Staff under President George Bush) and Vernon Jordon (Advisor and friend to President Bill Clinton) who had an office right next to my little spot in the hall, lol. Two powerful men I take great honor having known.

Eventually in 1999 I moved to the beautiful foothills along the Bradshaw Mountain Range near Prescott, Arizona and continue to live there able to enjoy a slower pace of life. The city is not for everyone, and I am definitely no city girl.

In 2004 I got my real estate license and still have it, although I’ve been inactive for a few years now.  I have hopes of getting back into it eventually.

I was a paranormal investigator with AfterDark and on Parazona, which was a public television show in Prescott. We investigated many homes, businesses and old churches in Arizona. These thrilling experiences will be something I will never forget, and they helped fuel my flame towards writing horror.

In 2012 I felt the need to get out of panty hose and high heels altogether and began a career in the long-haul trucking industry.  I bought a Kenworth T680 right out of the gate and all I can say is what a ride!

I have two beautiful daughters who are grown now and doing wonderful things and I hope their lives will be as full as mine has been.

I have always been a writer at heart. I’ve had articles published in magazines many years ago, but my responsibilities kept me away from being able to devote any serious time to it until now.

My passions in life, have been trying to be a good mom – although I have been known to stumble from time to time, kayaking and motorcycle riding.  I’m sure those things will never change.  In fact, in the story That Deluxe Shine, there is a picture of my own bike, which I took for the title page.  I must admit it’s pretty high to see it in the book.  I just couldn’t resist.

So, readers stick around – what have you got to lose?
